First, the news: Jackie Morgan over at Literary Escapism found out that Jealousy, the third Strange Angels book, is now listed on Amazon. I found it at Barnes & Noble too, but there’s no preorder link just yet. So, yay! As far as I know the June release date is still solid.
I know my posts have been very short lately. I’m clawing my way back up out of the well, so I have little breath for blogging. (Mixed metaphor, much?) But things are better. Each day is a little bit better than the day before.
Last night I noticed that the sycamore in my front yard is still green. It’s pretty late in the season, so I’m taking it as a message. I’m still green too. When the leaves fall I’ll turn inward for a while and heal. By the time the tree is green again, I will be even…greener.
I’m not saying it’s a perfect metaphor. But I did get a small swell of feeling good, which is ever so much better than the alternative. Bit by bit, crumb by crumb, I’m climbing up. Soon it will be okay again.
I just figured out this morning too that I could bring another character in and solve the whole passel of problems in the latest Jill book very neatly. That was my original plan, but I tried to see if I could move away from it. That didn’t work. So, Anya will be making her appearance. She’s a difficult, kind of testy character (what do you expect from a hunter?) and will no doubt be great fun.
See you in a bit.
